    93-95 points Vinous - "More energetic and terroir-driven on the nose than the Chapelle-Chambertin, offering scents of black cherry, licorice, minerals and medicinal spices. Wonderfully silky and seamless but also quite firm, with its currant, licorice and salty mineral flavors lifted by a peppery element that is no doubt at least partly from the stems. The tactile, powerful, slowly mounting finish displays extremely refined tannins and saturates the taste buds. Left behind a captivating perfume of dried flowers in the empty glass." (1/2017)

    93-96 points Allen Meadows, Burghound - "More subtle though still prominent oak can be found on the much more reserved red currant and dark berry-suffused nose that displays an astonishing array of spice, exotic tea and soft earth aromas. There is better energy as well as more evident minerality on the sleek and sophisticated flavors that deliver superb length and depth on the balanced finale. This is a powerful but classy effort that, very much like the Le Corton, is going to need a long stay in a cool cellar to fully resolve the supporting structure." (4/2017)

    93-95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - "The 2015 Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru comes from purchased fruit, always from the same owner and parcel. It has a pleasant bouquet: cranberry, sous-bois and dried orange peel emerging with time, though I would like to see more tension come through once this is in bottle. The palate is well balanced with supple tannin, finely judged acidity and nicely integrated new oak. This actually seems to meliorate in the mouth and I particularly like the harmony on the finish. It should turn into a sophisticated red Burgundy, albeit affording it 4-6 years in bottle. Good work here. Bouchard Père & Fils is one of Burgundy's most historical producers. To be honest, I have found some inconsistency in recent vintages and have not pulled any punches in previous reviews, nor this. On the other hand, I must commend them on delivering some surprisingly fine whites that surpassed my expectations and a cluster of delicious reds, in particular around the Beaune appellation. "Spring was very nice but the pressure of oïdium was high," I was informed at the winery during my visit. "Flowering was quick and homogeneous, but the vines continued to suffer after the hail in previous years. August was very clement and we kept the leaves to prevent some grillure. The 50-60mm of rain just after flowering was very important and certainly kept the balance in the vineyard. There was sporadic rainfall to top on the vineyards at the end of each month.     94 points Allen Meadows Burghound - " (from a huge 3.65 ha plot in Le Corton) Mild notes of wood and reduction mask the underlying fruit though I can say that it appears to be ripe. Otherwise there is outstanding volume and concentration to the big-bodied and openly muscular flavors that exhibit evident power and punch on the hugely long finale. This is presently very compact and like the Perrières very clearly built to age. I should note that while this is certainly going to need time it is not especially austere and I suspect that it will begin to drink well after only 5-ish years or so if that's your preference.     92-94 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2015 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru has a composed, citrus peel, granitic bouquet that feels a little "cooler" than others that I have encountered, the altitude and clay soils lending this the reserve to counterbalance the precocity of the growing season. The palate is well balanced with pleasing acidity, tightly-wound with a noticeable marine element that becomes more pronounced towards the finish. It has the weight and intensity you expect from a Corton-Charlemagne and it should repay those who cellar it for 5-7 years.     91-93 Points - Stephen Tanzer: "(from a high-altitude, windy, east-facing vineyard in which maturity generally arrives late, preserving the wine's freshness): Very pale color. Pungent aromas of apple, spices, toast, white flowers and flinty minerality. Lovely fresh apricot fruit is given verve by enlivening acidity and a touch of orange peel. In a very ripe, extract-rich style, finishing with a slightly tannic impression and a touch of bitter orange. This would make a great digestif. The crop level here was just 29 hectoliters per hectare as a sizable percentage of these vines are 80 years old. It’s a wine with grand cru stature, treated to between 30 and 40 percent new oak. The elegance and delicacy of the wine is immediately apparent, though the flavors are shuttered behind the tough austerity of the tannins. My range offers the benefit of the doubt that this will harmonize with a few years of age."

    90 points Wine Advocate - The 2015 Nuits Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Cailles comes from Bouchard’s single hectare of vines. It has an expressive bouquet with raspberry coulis, wild strawberry and a touch of fig, nicely delineated and focused. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, grippy raspberry and tart red cherry fruit with a touch of spice enlivening the energetic finish that is enhanced, given an edge, by the 40% whole cluster fruit.
