  1. Halcon Vineyards Petite Sirah Tierra 2014

Halcon Vineyards Petite Sirah Tierra 2014

A 100% varietal wine, the 2014 Petite Sirah Tierra comes from the Theopolis vineyard in the Yorkville Highlands (this was previously used by Carlisle and is close to Paul\\'s Halcon site) and was aged in 25% new French oak. It sports a deep ruby/purple color as well as terrific notes of black and blue fruits, tobacco leaf, licorice and chalky minerality. Rich, textured and full-bodied, with beautiful purity of fruit, it has enough texture and richness to shine even today, but I suspect it will evolve for 10-15 years. Learn More

  8. Tres Sabores Guarino Vineyard Petite Sirah 2011

Tres Sabores Guarino Vineyard Petite Sirah 2011

Petite Sirah is one of the essential spice box "seasonings" for any maker of Zinfandel (a chef without Pepper? Unlikely!) but these grapes deserve their single-vineyard designation. Dry-farmed in "Calistoga Joe’s” rich, black, volcanic soil. Abundant Marionberry, cedar, and roasty-chocolate notes infuse this wine from start to finish. We aged the 2011 in a mix of American and French oak for 24 months which appeased the tannin monsters but maintained the heft and nurtured the somewhat roguish character of the wine. In other words--you’ll still want to decant your bottle! 394 cases made. Viticulture: minimal inputs dry farmed. Learn More

  9. Trinitas Cellars Old Vine Petite Sirah, Contra Costa County 2013

Trinitas Cellars Old Vine Petite Sirah, Contra Costa County 2013

This wine boasts aromatics of chocolate, coffee, espresso, huckleberry, violet, and blue berry. Blueberry translates from the nose and is the dominant fruit character on the palate. The fruit balances with the tannins nicely to create a smooth wine with no lack of structure. The Trinitas Old Vine Petite Sirah continues to deliver big flavor and body in a silky and round fashion.
