91 points Wine AdvocateThe 2014 Grauer Burgunder Smaragd Mauterner Silberbichl comes from the right bank of the Danube river. The wine opens stunningly clear and precise, with the typical aromas of Pinot Gris. Full-bodied, elegant and mineral on the palate, this is as excellent Smaragd with food, richer fishes and meat, especially when matured. There is great tension and definition in the finish, concentrated fruit flavors in the aftertaste and it is very salty. Remarkably good and for sure the best wine of the 2014 sextet I have tasted from this family domaine in Mautern.
