  1. Arette Artesanal Tequila Blanco, Mexico

    Arette Artesanal Tequila Blanco, Mexico

90 points Wine Enthusiast - Close your eyes and you might think that's tomato juice in the glass. It's clear, but the fragrance is zesty, lemony and yes, fresh tomato-like. On the palate, dried oregano and green pepper come forward, plus a trace of tomato savoriness, and it finishes light, with lively lemon zest. It's mouthwatering, with moderate alcohol feel. 2. Arette Artesanal Tequila Reposado, Mexico

    Arette Artesanal Tequila Reposado, Mexico

Twice distilled in stainless steel pot stills with interior copper condenser by Eduardo Orendain before being aged in ex-Bourbon barrels for 11 months. It smells like fresh agave, despite the barrel aging, which only adds baking spices to the background of the bouquet. It is simultaneously graceful, yet spicy upon the first sip. It balances the bridge between smooth sipper and bright shooter like no other tequila I've tasted. The Arette is not new world, over-oaked, viscous monster like some other highly-touted tequilas I've tasted. It is subtle and beautiful, and it never gets old.

Featuring fruity-sweet flavor notes, the tighter cut of the distillate ensures less acetone flavors and puts an emphasis on a mid-palate wash of mint, pepper, vanilla, and ripe apple and plum. Learn More

    Bacardi Facundo Paraiso

Nut-brown in the glass, this conveys deep toffee, espresso and fudge notes, plus a heady sprinkling of baking spice. The finish is dry and spiced, flaunting dried orange peel and a light sherried note. The hefty, decorative bottle features images of the original Bacardi distillery and the Edificio Bacardi in Cuba. Part of a special-edition rum line intended to honor the founder of Bacardi and 150 years of rum-making. Learn More
